Superbowl 2009 best part was the game

Every year about this time the No Fun League (NFL) put on their yearly spectacle to showcase the 2 best teams in football, the show is really 4 shows all rolled into one (5 if you count the week leading up to the game but I ignore it.)

The pregame show : 5 hours of great nap time for those that need a nap to stay awake for the entire game. I had a nice peaceful nap.

The commercials: In many of the years that have past the game was such a blow out the commercials was the only reason not to turn the dial. With this in mind I took a potty break before the kickoff so I could watch every second of the game and the commercials... much to my dismay I could have channel surfed for the commercials. It's 10 am the next day and I can barley remember a single one of them.

I recall some people getting hit by buses and golf clubs, pretty much stuff you would see from a movie like Jackass, not my thing. The only commercial that rings a bell was one that was not allowed. The PETA commercial (link if you really need to see it.) While the Super bowl did not allow it I expect Dateline's Chris Hansen and Perverted Justice to be doing a show on the girls from that commercial soon to protect our grocery stores from weirdos.

Halftime: Yawn every year since the Janet Jackson debacle of 2004 The half time show has been a bunch of has beens and this year was no exception the Bruce Springsteen long noted for his political view and high-energy show ended up being a commercial for guacamole and Disney land.

Well So far so bad now lets look at the game: it was a game a great game if great a good enough word? Ok the lets use epic. It was and great epic game, Better? It was not over at halftime and kept fans on the edge of their seat till the last whistle blew... just what a great game is suppose to do. Now my team was not in there that would have made it even better but these two teams locked horns and made it one of the best Super Bowl Games ever played. Even the losing quarterback Kurt Warner may have put in his reservations for canton being able to dice up the best defense in the league. If the NFL played reruns (and the don't) this game would be one I would watch again and it's not often I would watch a football game over again.

The last 6 or 7 Superbowls have been great games. Used to be, you watched the commercials because the game was over by halftime, if not the second quarter. I did win some nice cash betting the NFC every year for close to 10 years straight in the 80's, but as a fan, I actually like a competitive game.
