Making gold in World of Warcraft

This guild is by now means the only way way to make Gold in World Of Warcraft but it is one that can be done and just about any level. In fact I have done it with a level one character that I send 1 gold too.

For all you die hard fans out there I am sure you already know where I am heading yep straight to the auction house. If you play Alliance it's Stormwind or Iron forge, for Horde Orgrimmar in Durotar is where I go. Do not use a neutral Auction House, these are Gadgetzan in Tanaris Desert, Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale and Everlook in Winterspring.

What you will need: What you will need to start with is a game addon called auctioneer, this addon is a legal script that enhances you auction house with more stats to make buy and selling for a profit easier to do. Once you have this installed make it a habit to scan the auction house 2-3 times a day so your statistics are accurate.

Starting capital: At least 1 gold but 10 gold or more will make getting started easier. If you do not have any gold go train mining or herbalism go out grab a few stacks of ore or herbs. Then sell them in the AH since you have no buying power yet you will have to sell them at the lowest price. In most cases they will sell pretty quick. If you prefer not to start these professions and you are high level to run dead mine, stockades, or ragefire you can run these and farm linen and wool. If you can not run these yet go kill some low level humanoids that drop linen or wool cloth. I say humanoids because they also drop gold at a decent rate so you get some product to sell gold all in one.

Time: The auction house is like the stock market except that often players will sell stuff for a fraction of its value. Now I will dive into the area where most guides stop. They tell you to buy low and sell high, any second grade genius can tell you that! What they don't tell you is what to buy and sell. Well thats the real secret out there isn't it.

The secret to success: Drum roll please..... Trade Goods, I know what you saying already “but some of the gear sells for huge amounts of gold.” One must consider this just about every player in World Of Warcraft needs or uses trade goods. Yes some will go farm them but a great many of them will simply buy them from the auction house. Volume sales it where the gold is made in the Auction house not the occasional 100g sale.

The very first thing I want you to search for is linen cloth under trade goods. On most server is sells for between 50-80 silver a stack. If look in the auction with auctioneer installed you will see a new column on the far right called PCT, this will be your best friend. If you have scanned a few times you should see some percentages there. Now the best way to start is find the first linen cloth that has a PCT of 100% or about there. Look to see how many auctions have PCT below that. If there are none you may have to look at another item or get some linen by farming, as it will be a easy to sell. On the several to I play I can sell linen cloth for 70 to 80 silver with ease. Try to look for a break in the PCT like 85% and the next highest one is 90% a 5 percent break or more is best, since the AH will charge you 5% to sell. If you have enough gold to buy them all up below the break do so, but do not go to much about 60 or 70 per stack unless you know your server price runs higher for linen.

Now run to mail get you inventory and run back to AH. Now post one sack make sure you check the buyout option. Now search for linen cloth again see where your listing shows up. If you did your math right you should be the lowest PCT I sort of like 70 silver myself but that can vary from server to server. If you are the lowest PCT post the rest of your stacks. Depending on how much gold you have you can go look at wool cloth and do the same except wool cloth can sell on most servers for about 3 gold per stack. If you do not have enough gold to be able to buy up all the lower priced stuff go farm some linen or wool while you wait for your stuff to sell. Remember it take an hour after it sell to get the gold in the mail, so you have at least an hour of play time. I like to install an addon that tells me when an auction item sells so I know, but that is not required.

On you next trip to the AH look to see if you have any linen cloth left. In most cases I don't or have very little, now you should have some money go ahead buy up the stuff that priced more then 5% below yours. If there is only a stack or 2 that is within 5% I tend to buy that to and resist it all at the same price.

This process can be repeated on most common trade items, for the following trade. Tailoring, blacksmithing, and leather working. It may work on other ones to but I try to limit my inventory to stuff I know. I have had great profit from herbs and ores to but those markets tend to bounce, so don't try to work them unless you have a decent gold supply. I even have a toon on one server I do this with that has its own guild with several bank tabs. The reason I do this is on weekends often many players that don't play everyday post stuff way to cheap. So I buy it up and put in my banks until prices go up again and the start to resell it. Setting up a guild bank does cost a bit but today my private guild bank has inventory that will sell for over 20k.

WoW Tip #1: Never buy gold from a web site for cash. It can and often will get you banned.

WoW Tip #2: When using my system do not try to control to many items at one time always try to keep a substantial gold reserve on hand. You will find that often a very large batch of new listing will be posted to undercut your price. If you can buy them out your inventory sits there not selling.
